1、processing principle
CNC machine tool:
It is a machine tool that uses a digital control system to control the cutting tool to perform cutting on a rotating workpiece. When machining a simple shaft, the tool of the CNC machine tool will turn along the outer contour of the shaft to remove excess material and meet the design requirements.
Swiss CNC lathe:
It rotates under the drive of the spindle, and the tool system moves along the axial and radial directions of the workpiece for machining.
It is usually equipped with multiple cutting tools, which can complete various machining processes such as turning, drilling, milling, tapping, etc. in one clamping.
When machining a small precision part, the lathe can first turn the outer circle, then drill holes, and then perform thread machining, without the need to re clamp the workpiece in all processes.
2、Structural characteristics
CNC lathe: generally composed of bed body, spindle box, tool holder, feed system, cooling system, and CNC system. Its structure is relatively simple, and the bed is usually placed horizontally. The tool holder is installed on the bed and can move horizontally (X-axis) and vertically (Z-axis).
Swiss CNC lathe : It has a basic bed, spindle, and tool system, as well as a secondary spindle, guide sleeve device, etc. Its cutting tools are arranged around the workpiece and have multiple axial movement directions, such as Z1 axis, Z2 axis (corresponding to the main and auxiliary spindle directions), X axis, etc. Its main and auxiliary spindles can achieve synchronous motion. After the spindle completes one end of the machining, the auxiliary spindle can take over the workpiece and continue machining the other end, which gives the walking machine a great advantage in machining long axis parts.
3、Machining accuracy
CNC lathe: The machining accuracy is generally around 0.01-0.02mm. When machining larger and longer shaft parts, the accuracy may be reduced.
Swiss CNC lathe : High processing accuracy, can reach 0.005-0.01mm or even higher. This is because during the machining process, the workpiece is always supported by the guide sleeve, reducing the vibration and deformation of the workpiece. Moreover, completing multiple processes in one clamping can reduce the impact of clamping errors on accuracy. Especially in the processing of precision parts with small diameters and long dimensions, the precision advantage of the walking machine is more obvious.
scope of application
CNC lathe: suitable for processing various simple shaped rotating parts, such as shafts, disks, sleeves, etc. It is more suitable for machining parts with larger dimensions and lower precision requirements, such as half shafts in automobiles and transmission shafts in ordinary machinery.
Swiss CNC lathe: Mainly used for processing small, slender precision parts, especially widely used in fields such as medical equipment and electronic devices.
