I. The Break-in Logic: Relax – Progress – Lock

  1. Relax: Natural Ageing + Preload Release
    • Castings are left for weeks so internal stress dissipates slowly; no "running-in under stress".
    • Before assembly, guideway clamps and bearing lock nuts are loosened so guideways and screws sit at "zero stress".
  2. Progress: No-load → Light-load → Heavy-load Ladder
    • No-load high speed: low → medium → high speed, each for several hours, so rollers/balls form an even oil film.
    • Light-load cutting: smaller depth and feed, gradually loading to ~50 % normal cutting force.
    • Heavy-load proof: full cutting force, continuous running, monitor vibration and temperature until both plateau.
  3. Lock: Data Benchmark + Preload Calibration
    • Laser interferometer checks guideway straightness, wireless ball-bar checks circularity, data benchmarked to factory standard.
    • Guideway clamps and bearing lock nuts are re-tightened to JSWAY specified torque, avoiding "too tight" or "too loose".

• Listen to vibration: no abnormal high-frequency whistling during no-load high speed.
• Listen to oil film: no "dry friction" squeaking during light-load cutting.
• Listen to temperature rise: no sudden jumps during heavy-load proof.

• Measure temperature: infrared thermometer on bearing housings and slider blocks—stable rise.
