I. Cooling and Temperature Reduction
High-pressure oil mist directly impacts the tool and chips, removing large amounts of cutting heat, lowering tool and work-piece surface temperature, and extending tool life while improving machined surface quality on Swiss-type lathes or turn-mill centres.
The oil mist forms a lubricating film between tool and work-piece, reducing the coefficient of friction and cutting forces during high-speed turning on Swiss-type machines or heavy milling on turn-mill centres, minimising tool wear and built-up edge.
High-speed oil flow breaks continuous chips, preventing long-shaft wrapping on Swiss-type machines; it also rapidly evacuates chips from large cavities in turn-mill centres, keeping the machined surface clean and avoiding secondary cutting.
High-pressure oil mist flushes away micro-particles adhering to the tool, preventing secondary cutting and scratching on micro-milled Swiss-type parts or large-face milling on turn-mill centres, keeping tools sharp.
