July 6, 2026 – The 8th “ZhiChuang · JSWAY CNC Cup” Mechanical Innovation Design Group Competition of Hunan Institute of Engineering was officially held. Xiang Lingyun, General Manager of JSWAY CNC Company, was honored to be invited as a 1992 alumnus of the university.
This competition is a key component of HIE’s “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program.” HIE students took the stage in turn, presenting their works in terms of mechanical structure, innovation highlights, and application scenarios, and completed live physical demonstrations. The experimental designs were closely related to real-world production and daily life, showcasing the students’ creativity in solving practical problems and their solid professional competence.
At the competition venue, General Manager Xiang watched the students’ design demonstrations attentively. Drawing on his own experience, he engaged in in-depth exchanges with the students, encouraging them to turn their creative ideas into implementable engineering solutions. He also extended his congratulations on the successful holding of the competition.
At the award ceremony, speaking as a senior alumnus, Xiang shared insights and reflections accumulated over the years. Mechanical innovation, he noted, is the core driving force behind breakthroughs in manufacturing; the group competition, in particular, is a comprehensive training experience that hones collaboration skills and engineering practice thinking. This contest pushes everyone beyond textbook theories to face real engineering challenges head-on, thereby tempering the essential qualities that these students, as future mechanical engineers, must possess.
JSWAY is based in Guangdong, where it frequently encounters a large number of HIE alumni. The sense of innate familiarity is beyond words. HIE has long been recognized as a quality cradle of engineers; adhering to lifelong learning and creating value for society is a true portrait of countless HIE graduates. This summer, four fresh graduates of HIE have joined the JSWAY R&D team, infusing the company with a new generation of innovative strength.
At noon that day, General Manager Xiang attended the alumni symposium of the School of Mechanical Engineering, where he recalled his learning experience at his alma mater. After the symposium, he went back to the classroom where he had taken classes 30 years ago, sat at his former seat, and shared amusing anecdotes of school days with fellow alumni. Over the past three decades, tests in work and life have never ceased, and there are no standard answers. Only by keeping pace with the times can one keep making progress.
Today, a new wave of technological innovation and hardcore research and creation has arrived. Knowledge and academic qualifications have not depreciated; on the contrary, they have become even more important. Life is never a fixed track, but a wide-open field. Today’s university students are tomorrow’s engineers; today’s talent is the future of the industry.
Learning in school lays the foundation, but what truly determines one’s height is the effort made after stepping into society, the courage to dare to be first, and the perseverance to never give up. JSWAY is willing to share this encouragement with the new generation and pass on the craftsmanship of mechanical design from generation to generation. We look forward to seeing more and more graduates grow into pillars of the manufacturing industry through the practical training of the “Excellent Engineer Program.”
